Best Action Movies on Netflix in 2022

Top 10 action movies on Netflix right now are:

Looking for a place with regular movie nights? Just check out our Stanza Living Residences.

300

Starting off the list with a box-office gold, we’ve got 300 directed by the brilliant Zack Synder. Yup, he’s the guy we all know because of Justice League’s #syndercut. And just like DC movies, 300 has a lot of dark, gory scenes with loads of adrenaline pumpin’ slo-mo shots. In short, Synder made slo-mo look cool long before your fav influencers started to drop out of those Instagram reels.

Django Unchained

The Quentin Tarantino-directed Django Unchained is all things iconic. It stars Leo Dicaprio, Jamie Foxx, and Christopher Waltz. Also, it’s got some of the memorable shots of the 21st century. Like the one where Leo cuts his hand for real and keeps the camera rolling. Or the one where he laughs off at the screen holding his drink. And yes, this is where the iconic meme came from. So it’s perfect for people who love a good satire as well as your friendly neighborhood meme lords.

Gladiator

Gladiator (2000) is an Oscar-winning period film starring Russel Crowe and Joaquin Phoenix. The plot follows a general-turned-gladiator Maximus (Russel Crowe) who fights to avenge the murder of his family. It’s got several bone-crushing action scenes that’ll keep you on the edge of your seat. Definitely not one of those Oscar-winning movies where you have to visit a dozen Youtube channels just to understand the deeper meaning’ after watching them.

Snowpiercer

The Chris Evans starrer Snowpiercer is based in a post-apocalyptic world. The kind where the last human beings are stuck inside a train because the outside world becomes inhabitable for people. And the plot is fairly simple, get to the front of the train or die trying. But with anything that’s directed by Bong Joon Ho, there’s more than what meets the eye. So get comfy with your blankets and watch the plot get twistier minute by minute. Or should we say, train coach by train coach?

Triple Frontier

If you love a movie with guns, explosions, helicopter crashes, and jungle warfare, then look no further than Triple Frontier. And to give you a gist of the plot, it’s basically a crossover between a military action flick and a bank heist movie. Plus, it’s one of those movies with minimal dialogue and max action. So if not anything, this is not a movie where you’ll have to divide your attention between the actual scenes and the subtitles.

Red Notice

You know a movie’s gonna be super thrilling when it’s got not just one megastar, but three. Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot, and Ryan Reynolds are simply what makes Red Notice one of the most trending action movies to watch on Netflix right now. Sure, the plot’s a little weak and the action scenes are not something that we haven’t seen before, but if we get to see the Rock and Ryan Reynolds roasting each other for 1 hour 57 mins, then we ain’t complainin’.

The Man from UNCLE

Who doesn’t love a good ol’ spy movie? Well, at least no one we know. The Man from U.N.C.L.E features Henry Cavill playing a spy wearing skin-tight suits all throughout the movie. So we won’t say much about the plot, but the movie’s so hawt you’re gonna have to use up all your sunscreen just to escape the bright light shining off of Henry Cavil’s impeccable jawline.

Olympus Has Fallen

Gerard Butler is the only reason you need to switch off the lights in your room and watch Olympus Has Fallen. The plot is basically about a secret service agent trying to protect the POTUS when the White House is taken under siege. Though, if Gerard Butler doesn’t impress you enough, the intense acting from Morgan Freeman definitely will. No doubt about that.

Ip Man Movies

Ip Man stars the legendary martial artist Donnie Yen playing a Wing Chun master. In fact, this movie has fight scenes that have inspired action sequences for many more movies that have come out after its release. Kinda like how today’s Indian daily soaps are feeding on Ekta Kapoor’s serials back in the day. We mean, the introduction of plastic surgeries to transition into a new actor taking on the same character. And the epic repeated boomerangs whenever a character drops a major plot twist.

Braveheart

Most of the scenes from Braveheart revolve around a young Mel Gibson fighting against the English for Scottish freedom. When he’s not fighting, he’s usually delivering some of the best war speeches ever captured in the cinematic universe. So you might be copped inside your room, clad in pajamas, and eating kurkure, but when that speech drops, you’re gonna want to call up your bestie and start that much-needed revolution against your grumpy professor in college.
