You see, moving into a PG is very different from moving into a solo apartment. Because the chances are, a lot of the things that you’d need might already be there in the PG. So what you should do is go over the amenities’ list once again, and check if they’re functional by talking to the PG owner. For example, if they already have a working induction cooktop for common use, then you can do without carrying one with you. Basically, try to save as much space as possible.
Got it?
Let’s say, you have quite a number of things to carry while moving into your new PG. In that case, the move will not just involve taking your stuff in a cab. You might need porters too. So for that, make sure to visit your PG at least before the moving day. First, it’ll help you find out the exact route to the location to plan things properly. And second, you’ll save yourself from last minute surprises like needing an extra curtain. Or finding out that it’s too small of a space to accommodate your bed table. Or anything of that sort, really.
Yep, once your roommate has been fixed, make sure to have a conversation with them. And apart from a vibe check, we suggest you talk about the things you’re gonna bring from both your ends. Because honestly, there’s no point in keeping two sets of everything in the same room when you could just share. So while you take charge of bringing curtains, they can bring the table cloths with them. Or while you bring your UNO pack, they can bring their Netflix password to share lol.
Of course, moving into a PG is a whole lot easier. But here’s the thing, even though the amenities will be in place, you have to ensure you bring some essential items for a smooth first week in your new PG. Like if not anything, at least pack toiletries, a washing powder and extension boards. And if you can add a pair of flip flops and blankets to that, then you’re completely sorted, my fren.
Always. Start. Your. Moving. Process. Early. Yep, we can’t stress enough on it. Because you might feel confident about your move, but the plan’s don’t necessarily pan out as they are supposed to, right? Yep. It’s why you should begin your move early in the day. So even if any emergencies come up, you’d still be done and free by late evening. And on your first day of your new life, you’d want to end the day with some good food, and then relax well, no?
