Are you confused between moving to a PG in DU and your college hostel? Are you? Are you? Ok, ok, we don’t mean to make you sweat. It’s just that we feel a bit sorry for you as this one’s a tough nut to crack. On one hand, there’s the comfy hostel life with most of these campuses being so pretty (we mean, they actually have peacocks casually walking around). And on the other, there’s the freedom to live the quintessential North Campus PG life. But don’t you worry. We’re here to help you out. By giving you a short lecture on how you can go about deciding between a hostel in Delhi University and PG rooms.’
And yea, you can trust our word. Because we happen to know a thing, or two, about paying guest accommodation for young folks like you. All thanks to our experience of curating and managing more than 450+ Stanza Living residences in 24+ cities. Out of which, our first-ever residence was actually launched in North Campus. Anyway, now that you have got a glimpse of our resume, please bookmark this page. So you can pull it out as quickly as DU students turn from class toppers to college bunkers in no time.’
Well, it depends. But before you go tackle that question, let’s set the foundation. So we hate to break it down to you, but you may not even end up with a hostel seat in the first place. Because the seats are limited and they’re given out based on merit. Basically, you’d have to be one of those 99 percent scoring peeps if you want to get in.’
But don’t think we underestimate you. If you’re reading this page, you probably have got in already. Or you’re confident enough to be sure that you will. Either way, you should know that Delhi university hostels are definitely cheaper. But then again, even though a PG in North Campus, Delhi, might cost you more, you’re likely to get more value for money out of it. And here’s why:
Hostel life is awesome. One, you get to live with all your classmates. Two, it’s so close to class, you can just wake up from your sleep and raise your hand for attendance. But here’s the thing, sometimes that’s also why we tend to kinda-sorta ignore the make-do facilities in the hostel.’
In a PG accommodation though, you get more amenities to make your lives easier. Especially if you consider co-living spaces like Stanza Living. Like seriously, we provide you with customizable meals. Daily professional housekeeping. And curated community events like workshops, stand-up shows, and movie nights. In short, we have more amenities than there are squirrels on a typical DU campus.’
Let us explain this through an example. So it’s not that your hostel won’t provide you with daily meals. But what we’re suggesting is that they might not always be good. If that’s the case, you should know it’s also hard to expect a change. Because let’s face it, a PG or a professionally managed co-living space will be more accountable to tweak their service than your college hostel ever will. Simply because there are a lot of administrative layers to cross even for a small change in the hostel. So do consider a PG if you’re used to having your way. We mean, not in a spoiled brat kinda way but more like a live-better-to-function-better kinda way.’
The price for freedom is heavy. Although that sounds melodramatic, it’s true given the extra monies that you might have to pay for a PG every month. But here’s what you might get in exchange for that. Higher or no in-time for coming to your room late, more flexibility to change rooms, decorate it, etc., etc. But yeah, it’s totally your call of how you’d like to view this. If that’s not a problem, go work on getting that 99 percent right now. Like right now.
