Toiletries

First things first, get all your personal care and hygiene items in your bag. Especially if you’re particular about the brands you use. Or if you follow a full-on skincare routine. Plus, do not forget the basics such as toothbrush and toothpaste. After all, when you land in the new city and go directly to your PG, the first thing you’d want to do is freshen up. So carry these things and you won’t have to find a shop and etcetera, etcetera.

Blankets

Sure, we all know Bengaluru has pleasant weather. But that doesn’t mean it does not get chilly during winter or when the rain comes down pouring. So do carry a lightweight blanket or comforter as that’s something your place to stay won’t provide.

Locks

This one’s a biggie. Once you enter your room for the first time, it’s yours. So carry a lock for the main door as well as a few smaller ones for the cupboard and any drawer where you might keep something important. Because let’s be honest, you’d be living in a community environment. So it’s better to be safe than sorry.

Extension boards

You don’t know what kind of electrical layout your room will have. So if you’re someone like us, you’d want to have an electrical socket right next to your bed and also your study table. But in some places, that might not be the case. Also, maybe the length of your charger or the distance from the socket is not exactly ideal. So carrying an extension board would be wise. Especially if you’re one of those folks who have more gadgets in your luggage than clothes.

Essential medicines

If you have medicines that you need to take regularly, don’t forget to carry a bunch in your luggage. And also make sure you carry the basic ones, like a tablet for headaches, tummy problems, and etcetera, etcetera. Just think about how your mum packs for a family trip. It’s the same drill.

Towels

Isn’t it annoying when you visit a friend’s place and you forget your towel? And you have to borrow someone else’s towel or use one of your t-shirts? Yup, we know the feeling. That’s why carry a towel, and also a few small ones that you’d need to wipe the dust off the shelves and the cupboard in your new room.
